Simple Yet Powerful Creativity Secret Revealed
A comment by Rusty Buchert from Sony Corp. supports what the picture caption
points out. In fact, Sony
spends tremendous amounts of money and time trying to find designers (creative
people). Rusty Buchert states that Sony spends money to fund those young ones
"who haven't been told this is how you make a game." "who haven't been told this is how you make a game."
Several meaningful things can be derived from his point of view. For one thing,
age is not a barrier if you know how to brainstorm. And I am 100% sure that Mr.
Buchart would be just as interested in someone who is old just as much if the
older individual knows how to brainstorm. But he reveals something very
important in his comment that is one significant factor in the Creativity
Process.
Secret Applied to Creativity
Rusty states he is interested in those young ones "who haven't been told this is
how you make a game." Whether Mr. Buchart realized it or not, his statement is
very important if you are going to be successful at creativity. Here is one of
the important secrets about the process of creativity. You must approach
creativity with the belief that you can have success. One of the fundamental
things that blocks us in this regard is when you are told you cannot do
something a certain way. Or that you cannot have success unless you do it in a
certain way.
If Thomas Edison listened to people in his day, he would have lost faith after
each failure in the invention of the electric light bulb. Think about that!
- Certainly people would tell him on each failure that if you want to produce
light, you must do so with some kind of combustible fuel.
- Even those who had his best interests at heart would have told him that if he
wanted to invent some new form of light, why not focus on new fuels and forget
about electricity.
- Who knows how many thousands of times he must have been told this each time he
failed.
We learn from Thomas Edison and Rusty Buchart as well that if you are to become
effective at creativity, you must not be influenced by other people and their
limited scope. Learn not to let people put limits and barriers on your ideas.

Two very important things you need to take away from this discussion
- Just how much value the video game industry places on creativity is one important
thing we learn. And not just the video game industry, more and more industries are
forced to realize this valuable talent.
- Learn never to listen to ideas about how you can or cannot do something. How do
they know? No one can tell you everything has been invented already. New
inventions, innovations, products, services and ingenious processes are
introduced every day. What’s more is that these fabulous outcomes are happening
to everyday, normal individuals who just don’t know they can’t do it…and they
just go ahead and do just what everyone said they couldn’t do. Learn this
creativity secret once and for all!
